Introduction

One of the most affected industries post pandemic would be the airlines industry. The travel restrictions have definitely pushed the airlines to rock bottom where people were not allowed to travel. During the first wave of pandemic, there were very limited airplanes to operate that too only for important affairs like official businesses that involved government and also official matters. But now things are slowly recovering and the airline companies are slowly beginning to schedule more frequent flights and most of the borders have started to open. This would mean that airline companies would need to employ back more manpower especially in professional areas like aircraft engineers, aviation experts and aircraft service consultants. This has also created a never ending demand for aircraft engineers and also aircraft mro services in malaysia. During the pandemic, students who even have interest in pursuing aircraft & aerospace engineering would fear to give it a try because they were afraid that they might not be able to secure a job. But now students can bravely put their foot in this venture.

What is aerospace engineering

Aerospace engineering is a study that focuses on the overall science of science and aircraft. Being known as the branch of engineering, aerospace engineering is separated into two major components being aeronautical engineering and astronautical engineering. In order for you to excel in the field of aerospace engineering you would need to have a strong foundation of mathematics.

Outline of the course and skills

The study of aerospace cum aeronautical engineering as a whole involves the study of design, construction and the overall maintenance of aircraft. The credible engineers will be needed to work for the areas that covers construction and designing aircraft to envisage the missions of spacecraft. You will work closely with seniors in working with technology, theory as well as the practise of aircraft in general.

Requirements to enroll

If you are a SPM leaver you can enroll in matriculation (science stream) or relevant diploma programmes that would allow you to continue your degree. You can also start with STPM or also known as Pre-U and need to take up core subjects like Pengajian Am and your choice of 2 science subjects. After that you can apply for your degree program in both local and private universities. There are a number of local universities offering the study like UTM, UPM, USM, UTHM and UiTM. Priority would be given to those candidates who have a good principal in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Additional Mathematics.

Candidates from Malaysia would also need to have a good command of language whereby they should possess at least credit for Bahasa Malaysia in their SPM examination. They would also need to have a good command of English both speech and written. Those students who meet the standards may apply for their aerospace studies in Malaysia. If you wish to pursue your studies in foreign country then you might need to look after the requirements and criteria that is required there. For countries like Russia, you might need to master their language in order to continue studying there. You can take up Russian Language lessons prior to your studies. If you are still thinking of applying for Aerospace/ Aeronautical engineering , what are you waiting for, go for it !
